In terms of Planko's work in the realm of public art, the most recent was a commission at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver to create an art site that would be appealing to all ages and would be active for the duration of the fair.

Called "Art-o-mobiles" the installation saw three old vehicles (a '59 Truck, a '64 Valiant, and a '77 VW camper bus) each with their engines removed and rendered safe, spray painted white and placed in proximity to one another.

Visitors to the fair were able to paint whatever their hearts desired on the vehicles and very quickly the cars became living canvases. Immensely popular, vibrant and ever-changing, the cars were discussed, celebrated and debated on several blogs and chat rooms.
